Public perception plays a crucial role in the successful adoption of water circular economy solutions. Recognising this, the BOOST-IN project has launched a structured co-creation process aimed at understanding social attitudes and developing targeted strategies to enhance public acceptance.

At the heart of this initiative are a series of workshops designed to identify social barriers, explore opportunities, and create action plans for fostering public awareness. These workshops will take place in the six Regions of Opportunities of BOOST-IN project, where local leaders will drive engagement and tailor solutions to regional needs. Each region will host two co-creation workshops: the first, in March, will focus on diagnosing challenges and opportunities, while the second will develop strategic roadmaps to overcome barriers. In addition, cross-fertilization workshops will allow regions to exchange insights and refine their approaches.

To ensure a consistent and well-prepared rollout, BOOST-IN held its first training session on January 23, 2025. Led by ZSI, the session introduced a structured moderation framework, providing regional leaders with essential tools to guide the workshop implementation. Participants also had the opportunity to discuss their regional challenges and customize their engagement approach.

With the first round of workshops set to begin in March, regional leaders will take on a key role in organizing and facilitating these sessions, ensuring that local stakeholders are actively involved in shaping circular water solutions. Their leadership and expertise will be critical in fostering meaningful discussions and co-developing strategies that support the wider adoption of water circular economy practices across Europe.
