The BOOST-IN project took centre stage during Water Projects Europe (WPE), held on 3 December 2025, as part of the Water Knowledge Europe brokerage event in Brussels. Organised by Water Europe, the sessions gathered leading EU-funded initiatives shaping Europe’s transition toward resilient, circular, and water-smart systems.

BOOST-IN was featured in two thematic WPE sessions:

  • WPE2025 – From Alternative Water to Circular Solutions
  • WPE2025 – Innovation in Industrial Water for a Water-Smart Society & Economy

Across both sessions, BOOST-IN contributed to discussions on digitalisation, industrial symbiosis, and the uptake of innovative water solutions across sectors.

Representing the project, Thomas Track from DECHEMA delivered a dedicated presentation introducing the BOOST-IN concept, objectives, and expected outcomes. His intervention highlighted how BOOST-IN supports SMEs and innovators in accelerating market access for breakthrough water technologies – strengthening Europe’s capacity to deploy sustainable solutions at scale.

In addition to the main project introduction, Thomas participated in two parallel expert sessions, where he contributed insights on:

1. Circularity & Alternative Water Resources

Here, BOOST-IN joined AWARD, RECREATE, CIRSEAU, and MARCLAIMED to explore how innovative demonstrations and systemic approaches can advance Europe’s circular water transition. Discussions emphasised the importance of scaling technological solutions, engaging stakeholders, and building trust in alternative water resources.

2. Industrial Water Innovation & Competitiveness

BOOST-IN contributed to exchanges on boosting innovation uptake in industrial contexts—addressing challenges related to digital tools, process optimisation, regulatory frameworks, and cross-sectoral collaboration. The session reinforced the necessity of supporting industries in integrating water-smart practices to enhance resource efficiency and resilience.

Through these interventions, BOOST-IN demonstrated how its activities directly contribute to building a Water-Smart Society & Economy, helping industries and innovators navigate technological, financial, and regulatory barriers.
