The European Commission has rolled out a substantial grant of EUR 2 million to bolster the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), with a keen focus on enhancing climate action technology in developing nations, particularly the least developing countries (LDCs) and small island developing states (SIDS) over the upcoming two years.

The project’s launch comes at a critical juncture following the release of the first UNFCCC Global Stocktake report (GST), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report (IPCC AR6), and the 2023 UNEP Emission Gap Report. The EU’s Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI – Global Europe) is the funding source for this grant, facilitating the execution of CTCN’s 3rd Programme of Work.
