To celebrate the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs, BOOST-IN will host an open webinar on Tuesday, 19 November 2025 at 13:00 CET, dedicated to highlighting the role of women in innovation and entrepreneurship in the water and circular economy sectors. Check the full agenda and register here.

Organised by our coordinator BIOAZUL as part of the activities of the BOOST-IN Gender Committee, the event will explore how gender-inclusive strategies can strengthen innovation ecosystems and accelerate the uptake of circular solutions, particularly in traditionally male-dominated fields such as water reuse, nutrient recovery, and environmental technologies.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Dr. Katalin Oborni, Coordinator of the RE-FEM project (HÉTFA Research Institute, Hungary), will present key insights from this Horizon Europe initiative, which supports migrant and disadvantaged women entrepreneurs through targeted training, mentoring, and systemic support. RE-FEM has developed a strong evidence base and a set of tools to help policymakers and practitioners build more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems across Europe. More information is available www.refem.eu.

BIOAZUL, as coordinator of BONEX project (PRIMA programme), will share practical lessons learned from implementing a gender-sensitive approach in the Mediterranean. In BONEX, gender equality is seen as an essential driver for sustainable innovation, and under the motto “Women are the Nexus”, women are promoted as key agents of change across water, food, and energy systems. The project has integrated gender considerations into its stakeholder engagement, communication strategy, and policy work from the outset. More information can be found here.

In addition, the session will feature a short pitch round by female innovators from the BOOST-IN innovation database, offering a platform to share their entrepreneurial journeys and showcase circular water solutions led by women:

  • Windi Muziasari (CEO and Founder of Resistomap, Finland)
  • Arjina Sharif (Business Development Manager at Diehl Metering, Germany)
  • Nataliia Tiron-Vorobiova (Management in the transport industry at Odessa
