The BOOST-IN project continues to accelerate the European water sector’s transition toward a circular economy, marking a significant milestone in its innovation mapping efforts. Led by ECOFILAE, the project’s comprehensive analysis of the water landscape has officially surpassed the 200-mark, with the interactive mapping tool now showcasing 206 innovative solutions worldwide.

This mapping initiative is a core activity of the BOOST-IN project, designed to identify and structure solutions to facilitate innovation uptake, matchmaking, and market dissemination. By categorizing these solutions based on type, maturity (TRL and BRL levels), sector, and geography, BOOST-IN provides stakeholders—including investors, researchers, and policymakers—with a clear view of the tools available to turn water from a disposable utility into a valuable, recoverable resource.

The 206 solutions currently featured in the tool cover a diverse array of approaches, including cutting-edge technologies, software, hardware, services, and new financing mechanisms. These solutions target critical circular categories such as water reuse, nutrient recovery, and energy generation.

The interactive mapping tool is available on the BOOST-IN website, providing a growing window into Europe’s water innovation hotspots and laying the groundwork for a more resilient, resource-efficient future.
