After a brief break, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission is thrilled to resume its series of technical workshops on Water Reuse. Continuing from last year, the upcoming workshop will focus on innovative tools from EU Member States to support the development of risk management plans, as well as best practices and regulatory aspects of water reuse.

The workshop, titled “EU Water Reuse Implementation and Risk Management Tools: Spotlight on Spain”, will explore Spain’s integration of EU Water Reuse Regulation into its national framework. Key topics will include:

  • Spain’s strategies for agricultural irrigation, defining minimum water quality standards, and implementing effective risk management.
  • A multi-barrier approach to water reuse across various sectors.

Speakers from Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas (CEDEX) and Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias (ITC) will share insights on the tools developed for risk management and guidelines specific to the Canary Islands, highlighting unique regional challenges and opportunities.
